Jamila Jones Kennedy is the Director of the Center for Design, Methods, and Analysis (CDMA) in GAO’s Applied Research and Methods team. CDMA's mission is to improve the quality of GAO's work by leading, advising, and assisting engagement teams on methodological, analytical, and technical research issues. Jamila oversees CDMA's work in developing appropriate job designs, applying methods which comply with GAO and professional standards, and transferring skills and knowledge to engagement team members.

Jamila joined GAO in September 2001. She served as an Assistant Director in the Education, Workforce, and Income Security team, where she managed engagements in the K-12 education and human services issue areas. Prior to her selection as Director, Jamila was a Senior Policy Advisor in the Audit Policy and Quality Assurance team, where she was involved in several agency-wide efforts to help ensure high quality products and services.

Jamila earned a doctorate degree in education policy and research methods from George Mason University. Jamila earned a master’s degree in economics from the University of South Carolina-Columbia. Jamila earned a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Florida A&M University.
